Life Coaching

Coaching is the key to En Tree’s programs. A coach is someone who works with you to help you find clarity, achieve your goals, and feel happier and more fulfilled. A coach does not give you answers or advice, but they do guide you to find the answers that are already in you. A coach helps you to clearly define your goals or concerns, develop a plan to achieve or solve them, and keep you on the path for achieving your goals and even exceeding your expectations. A coach can also help you decide which other programs, including Nature Therapy, Yoga, Meditation, and Reiki, might be right for you. Sign up here or Learn More.

Meditation

Meditation refers to various techniques that are conscious attempts to focus attention in a non-analytical, non-judgmental way and an attempt not to dwell on repetitive thoughts (based on Shapiro, 1982). Meditation is made up of three things: 1. Full attention is focused on the current moment, 2. Focusing is a conscious choice, and 3. Attention is maintained with openness and acceptance without analyzing.

The goal is to focus on something, recognize and accept when other thoughts arise, and then return to the point of focus. Benefits of a meditation practice include reduced stress and anxiety, better focus and concentration, improved sleep, better memory, greater resilience, increased patience and compassion, improved health and overall well-being, and increased satisfaction with life.

Yoga

Yoga improves strength, balance, and flexibility, and it can be a great workout, but yoga is much more than that. The word “yoga” means union, and the purpose is to unite your mind, body, and soul. During the poses, or asanas, we focus on the sensations in our bodies bringing our focus inward. We also focus on the sounds and sensations provided by nature increasing connection with the natural world. All which clear the mind, quiet the mental chatter, and help you discover your authentic you. Classes are held in various locations.

Nature Therapy

Nature therapy (not to be confused with clinical therapy performed by a licensed therapist), also called forest therapy, is based on the Japanese technique of shinrin-yoku, or forest bathing. It is not counseling, a bath, a vigorous hike. It includes slowing down, being quiet, reconnecting to your senses, yourself, and the rest of nature. Benefits include improved health, mental well-being, creativity, mood, and focus. The guided walks, which typically last 1.5 to 3 hours, encourage you to slow down and just be. Walks are held in various locations, and private group walks at your location can be scheduled.

Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese relaxation and healing technique that is used in major medical centers across the United States. Reiki has been shown to lower stress and anxiety, reduce pain, improve mood and sleep, and promote healing. Reiki is not a religious practice or affiliated with a specific religion. During a Reiki session, you will lie down or sit, listen to soothing music and the sounds of nature, and the practitioner will place their hands on or above different points on your body typically for 30-45 minutes. Sessions can be indoors or outside.

Kids Programs

En Tree offers a variety of children’s programs that connect children to mindfulness, meditation, yoga, and nature. Children who are able to “unplug” for a period of time each day and who connect with nature are less stressed and anxious, focus more, have longer attention spans, sleep better, are more creative, have healthier weights, are more coordinated, and are overall happier and healthier.

Programs are typically offered through nature centers or other organizations, so scheduling and offerings will vary.
